Paris, France — July 9, 2026 — The inaugural Saudi Independent Cinema Salon, founded and curated by filmmaker Gigi Hozimah, will take place at the ESRA Film School in Paris. This curated cultural event presents a unique platform dedicated to contemporary Saudi independent cinema, bringing together film, visual art, and dialogue in an intimate, discussion-oriented setting.
The Salon showcases a curated selection of works by both emerging and established Saudi filmmakers, highlighting cinema as an artistic language that explores identity, memory, and personal narratives beyond commercial frameworks.
The evening program includes a short film selection, followed by a feature screening of And Then Comes Winter, directed by Gigi Hozimah, and a post-screening conversation with the director, guest critics, and cast. The event also features a curated art exhibition with works by artist Hana Hijazi alongside filmmaker and visual artist Gigi Hozimah, creating a dialogue between cinema and visual art.
Positioned within the tradition of auteur cinema, the Salon emphasizes film as a personal and artistic expression, fostering cultural exchange between Saudi Arabia and France while introducing contemporary Saudi voices to an international audience.
The Saudi Independent Cinema Salon is organized by (Look At The Wall Productions), in collaboration with (Creative Meem for Arts) as the official editorial and media partner, and is hosted by the ESRA Film School in Paris.
